When it comes to fund raising, the proof is in the pudding. I can think of no better way to help raise money for an organization than to bring the 1 lb red roaster to an event and roast in front of people. The beans in their fluid bed dance combined with the wonderful aroma of fresh roasted coffee brings people around from blocks away!
Recently, TennyTinyCoffeeCompany participated in two different fund raisers with different but successful results in both cases. The concept of fund raising should be planned but in the case of the coffee roasters, your results as they like to say on television, may vary. In both cases, considering scope and scale, while raising varied amounts, I am able to say it was successful!
Mike Garibaldi of Napa Valley Masters Water Polo and Anni Minnuzo of the Small Business Development Council and an avid water polo player, and I met some months back strategizing the deployment of the roasters at a water polo event. We had already done some events and they were successful but there was no historical average or benchmark to see what would happen if the roasters were at an event. So, we took the proverbial, calculated chance and cast our choice to bring them,
The roasters were brought to the Masters Water Polo event and along with making French Pressed Coffee, people responded well and chose to buy beans and donate money to drink coffee. After two days, of roasting and serving coffee and taking out all expenses for the operation, TeenyTinyCoffeeCompany presented a cashiers check in the form of $200.00 to Mike Garibaldi for use of whatever he wished within his organization to help further water polo. In a post debrief with Mike, he admitted that they had no idea before what would happen but he was sure glad that we did this!
Event two was the Second Annual Porchfest held on the porches of residence houses in Napa. Since we are the Napa Valley Ramblers coffee company of choice, it was only fitting to have the roaster present at the Porchfest event last Sunday July 30, 2012. When you combine coffee roasting with awesome music from this folk band, you have a recipe for success. I am still trying to figure out how to get images off my new iPhone so you will just have to take my word here. lol.
We sold coffee by the pound only at this event and when it was all done, I was able to pay my expenses again and then go have made up a cashiers check in the amount of $50.00 for whatever the guys in the band with Napa Valley Ramblers wants to use it for covering their expenses. Their was talk of having a banner made for future events and that would be an excellent use of the money.
So, their you have it. TeenyTinyCoffeeCompany was also involved in raising monies and awareness at Hoe Down at The Hay Barn at Gordon Huether's Gallery to benefit The Wolfe Center. According to the letter received, we helped raise $65,000 towards that aim and again, people loved the roaster and smelling great coffee!
