Coffee Cupping is a vital part of selecting the coffee we purchase. This will also serve as a guide to you if you choose to cup your coffee and learn more about the nuances of what the coffee has to offer. Soil terms like terroir come into play. Coffee cupping parallels with the wine experience and it is advisable that you learn about it in order to further clarify your palette in relation to geographical coffee offerings and in order to further appreciate the subtle differences in each coffee offered. A single origin from Indonesia will have a completely different taste experience than a coffee from the mountains of Costa Rica. Weather, soil conditions, farm techniques and processing also play a part in a coffees development. This is all part of the Fourth Wave of Coffee.
